What you concentrate on will increase and finally materialize, individually and collectively. Concentrating on compassion, respect and support will bring out much better results than focussing on fear or hate. Love is THE healer in the universe – best wishes to you all, Markus
We should change our way of thinking.
The Western hunger for expansion and growth is in many respects aggressive. Every aggression brings with it the ascent of opposing forces which in turn are declared hostile.
Those who intentionally cause conflict, provoke war, who export weapons, plunder countries for their raw materials and other resources, those who empty the oceans of their fish, who lay nature to waste and try to politically and economically dominate people and states, these “players” should not be surprised when groups begin to form, the members of which not only despise these methods and their perpetrators but with time, begin to fight against them.
You leaders of nations, you managers of multinational concerns: pause for thought and consider the true human values. These are really quite simple and encompass all that you wish for yourself and your children. Take a fresh look and consider how all people could live as brothers and sisters in peace, sharing in a contented world-community.
But this is not what you wish for. You want these conflicts because they bring you advantage and profit. Your actions are predetermined and you care nothing for the fate of millions of people. But…things cannot go on in this way.
It is perfectly feasible that the people of this world are able to live in peace with enough to eat, a roof over their heads, education and healthcare while at the same time realizing their potential.
All that is needed is the will of all. A renewal in our way of thinking is needed. A renewal of our actions is needed. All carried out with honesty, fairness, respect.
Some time ago an acquaintance told me his only mantra was the word “thanks”. It took me a while to comprehend what he meant and – through practise – to begin to feel what his impulse had initiated in me. It is a challenge to say thank you in every situation but as I soon realised it can work miracles. How can this be? To me, saying “thank you” means the unconditional acceptance of EVERYTHING, even to the point of showing thankfulness. A manifold creative inner activity is required to be able to express genuine gratitude in difficult situations. This is only possible with a real feeling of affirmation for the circumstances in which one finds oneself. On the other hand it is crucial to bear in mind that this attitude does not necessitate the acceptance of all adversity. It may be that the gratitude is for being called upon to bring about change, to possibly put up resistance, draw boundaries, to investigate a given situation etc. The basic attitude, however, is one of affirmation: thank you for being able to learn, especially from my own mistakes, thank you for the potential to develop, thank you for letting me take leave from that which is obsolete, thank you for giving me new impulses, thank you for the chance of inner growth, thank you for a life that challenges and in doing so gives so much and opens new avenues.
Now, love can flow without impediment as the obstacles have all been removed. I can’t imagine anything for which thanks are not due. And something beautiful happens everyday, something I may see, may feel, may experience. Hallelujah.
Peace on Earth becomes possible when enough people really want it and act accordingly. What about you ?
It is sad to see how many wars and fights are still going on on earth daily. Too many people are suffering from religious or political conflicts, repression, hunger, malnutrition, lack of education, poverty, discrimination etc.
We are one world, one humanity, brothers and sisters, we breathe the same air, our bodies are made from the same mother earth.
Peace Worldwide may be possible. It needs active, positive deeds by all of us. “Be good, do good things.” What we concentrate on will materialize.
The precondition for peace seems to be that first we find peace in ourselves. Having found inner peace there is no need to attack anyone, to suppress, exploit others, and all the rest of negative acting. Love, sharing, compassion, respect and non-violence become natural. Your example will inspire others.
Look for peace inside. Quieten your mind, your emotions and experience the relativity of all phenomena, leaving behind all quarrels, grievances, all things, good or bad. Find out who you really are at the deepest level. At the bottom of your heart the sun shines, there you will find inner peace and love.
Then life is a great joy and it becomes natural to share this joy and love with everyone around you.
I admire GOD’s incredible patience with us all, His grace.
A small poem that I wrote in 1989:
The time has come that you shall remember who you are.
Forever have you been and shall eternally be.
You have come to feel the joy of creation,
to see its beauty and infinitely love all there is.
For all is thyself.
Each moment you create yourself and a thousand worlds around.
Your being is bliss, perfection and joy.
Rejoice my friend, rejoice.
I AM THAT
