Time is Now

About the project

“I grew up in a culture where music is for worshiping nature. It is pure spirituality and it follows the time and natural cycles of the day, night, seasons, weather… for this reason there is a particular raga for every unique moment.

Nowadays, most of the society on the whole world is following the clock, the 24 hours day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year sort of timing. We have somehow detached from the magic of how day transforms into night, and how night goes through her unique process to become morning, or how the sun or moon influence us with their light.

My wish was and is to give these special, yet so natural emotions, feelings and statuses to the people. My musical journey has shown me the powerful effect that music can have on our thoughts. So for me it was very important from the beginning that the music I was composing holds positive energy and vibrations and gave the feeling of freedom and universal love.

Time is now is a collection of music for every time of the day. It starts with morning gratitude and going through the day in a blissful way, we enter in the evening well tuned and graceful into the night.

The songs are composed based on the ragas, but with freedom from the rules, and freedom of improvisation. The musicians are free to express what they feel about these themes with the special combination of notes and inspiration of my own composing. Therefore I can not say there is any specific style for this music, but the result is surprisingly and beautifully unique.

I am very touched by how all musicians who participated were so open and gave their all into making this music come to life. After over 10 years of friendship with several of them, their ongoing motivation was my inspiration through this whole process. I am thankful to all of them.
