Light and Sound Art at the Neyetalsperre
This special experience will be hosted by the “Wasserquintett ” region, a unique area in North Rhine Westphalia comprising lakes, open country and forest. The gravity dam Neyetalsperre [map], a protected site embedded in this enchanting landscape, will take centre stage in a sensitive light and sound performance.

Klangvisionen
Tara Bouman Clarinet
Markus Stockhausen Trumpet
Rolf Zavelberg Light
Markus Stockhausen is one of the most multi-faceted musicians of our time. He is trumpet soloist, improvisor and composer. As befits his broad musical horizons and musical understanding, he plays in a wide variety of ensembles and environments.
The concept “Klangvisionen” is a special project: a triad of music, light and space. The trio, made up of Markus Stockhausen, his wife Tara Bouman and light designer Rolf Zavelberg, combines intuitive music and personal compositions with the respective location's atmosphere and accordingly designed light installations.
Using this concept, the trio has played well over 100 concerts since 2000, not only in churches, industrial heritage sites and railway tunnels, but also in the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn, for example. “The refined musical twists and turns and their visual realization captivate the listener (…) an exciting interplay between acoustic and visual impressions”(Kölnische Rundschau, 4 June 2009). i www.klangvisionen.info

Light and Sound Installation
Once darkness sets in, there will be two performances of the light and sound installation on each evening on the grounds in front of the Neyetalsperre gravity dam.
Visitors will be enchanted by the impressive, constantly changing scenery, accompanied by the music of Markus Stockhausen, which, like Rolf Zavelberg's light designs, will attentively interact with the cultural landscape.

Atem und Licht (Breath and Light)
St Nicholas Choir Gregorian chants
Markus Stockhausen Trumpet
Fabio Mina Flute
Rolf Zavelberg Light
A live concert will round off the week. Markus Stockhausen will improvise to the Gregorian chants of the St Nicholas church choir from Wipperfürth, while Rolf Zavelberg will again create accompanying moods with light. All this is made possible due to his well-established team: first and foremost his long-standing partner Gordon Axmann, as well as Tim Kuhnert, Sam Paulissen, Nils Faustmann, Christiane Teworte and Birgit Caspari, among others.
Nature and Landscape Conservation
The Neyetalsperre and the surrounding grounds make for a peaceful location; the lake and the surrounding forest are the perfect place to spend a few quiet, restful days.
Our wish is to shine a gentle light on this remarkable site for a short while using the medium of art, and, ultimately, to raise awareness of it.
Please Note
Out of respect for the surrounding nature, we will not be installing lights by access roads, drink stalls, numerous toilets and other pleasantries you may be accustomed to from other venues. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
The venue is situated outdoors and it is therefore recommended that you bring a torch with you. It is also advisable to bring along warm, weather-proof clothing.
Only a limited number of seats are available.
Entry is free, and prior notification of your attendance is not necessary.
It is not permitted to take photographs or make video or audio recordings. Audiovisual material of the event will be made available online.
For safety reasons the road that runs along the top of the dam wall will be closed during the events.
